About the Job

Under the supervision of the Section Head/Operation’s Manager, the Ultrasound Technologist performs all Breast ultrasonography exams and breast ultrasonography procedures, and on an as-need basis, performs a variety of Diagnostic Ultrasound exams and procedures to produce images for the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders.  Technologist is responsible for maintaining the cross- training program for Breast Sonography. This includes, but not limited to, monitoring and training based on Competency objectives. The technologist is responsible for ancillary paperwork as needed. The technologist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining essential patient care and safety.  Flexibility to cover open shifts necessary, including other LHMC site. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education:  Two year AMA accredited School of Diagnostic Ultra Sonography or grandfathered into profession with the ability to display competencies.
  • Licensure, Certification, Registration:  RDMS required.  Must attain RVT or RVS certification within 18 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Must be proficient in the use of Ultrasound equipment and competent in recognizing anatomy/pathology.
  • Experience:   1-2 years in a large hospital setting preferred. Will train new graduate.
