The Medical Management Unit is specialized department that promotes education, collaboration and innovative practice. Registered Nurses in the unit play an integral role in assisting Newly Licensed Nurses transition into bedside practice. In collaboration with unit leadership and education, colleagues in the MMU pilot initiatives to enhance patient care and support professional growth. In addition to helping Newly Licensed Nurses transition to their role as a Registered Nurse, colleagues in the MMU work with nursing students as they are introduced to bedside nursing practice. The Medical Management Unit is great opportunity to impact novice nurses as they start their careers, and ultimately, enhance patient care. At Lahey Hospital & Medical Center we utilize complete computerized charting (EPIC) for patient assessment and care documentation, and to electronically record medication administration for the delivery of all medications provided to their patients. Computerized self-scheduling is available.
Along with excellent critical thinking skills, a desire to exceed patient expectations and good interpersonal skills, we require:
Graduate of a 2-4 year state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing; BSN Degree Required
Licensure, Certification, Registration
- Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration
- BLS certification with American Heart Association
