About the Job

Provides an advanced level of skill in clinical work with specialized knowledge and expertise in a particular speciality. Perofrms administrative, research, educational and/or supervisory responsibilities. Reports to Social Work Manager and/or administrative Director.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: 

 

Provides advanced clinical services and consultation to individuals, families and multidisciplinary providers.  Identifies internal and external resources to resolve complex patient/family issues.  Provides timely and accurate documentation and patient medical record.,  Essential, 

Maintains statistical data as required by hospital and regulatory policy or special department needs.,  Essential, 

Organizes orientation processes and on boarding of new employees assesses employees learning needs and plans appropriate education/development.  Teaches seminars, workshops and continuing education courses for multiple disciplines within the Medical Center and in the community.,  Essential, 

Provides leadership and clinical program development and management articulates the psychosocial needs of assigned population and develops programs accordingly.  Assist in the development of social work standards for practice.  Assist in program evaluation and continuous quality improvement.,  Essential, 

Has the authority to direct and support employees daily work activities.  As authority to undertake a recommend the following employee employment actions: Hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews.  Direct reports: 4-6 indirect reports: None 

Assist in planning, monitoring and/or managing budget and functional area of department. 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 Master's degree in Social Work required. 

License Lic Indep Clinical Social Work required 

 

5-8  years related work experience required 

Current MA license or license from a state with reciprocity. If licensed in another state, expected to obtain MA license within 3-6 months 

Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access

Decision Making: Ability to make decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices requiring some interpretation. May make recommendations for solving problems of moderate complexity and importance. 

Problem Solving: Ability to address problems that are highly varied, complex and often non-recurring, requiring staff input, innovative, creative, and Lean diagnostic techniques to resolve issues 

Independence of Action: Ability to set goals and determines how to accomplish defined results with some guidelines. Manager/Director provides broad guidance and overall direction. 

Written Communications: Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers. 

Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers. 

 

75/80% Clinical 

20% Program Management/Staff Supervision
